Service Description

Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) $350.00 per person Course Length: 48 Hours Course Options Onsite Training :Minimum of 6 participants Blended Learning: Start the online portion at any time, then schedule a convenient skills session. Course Overview The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course prepares individuals to provide immediate emergency care to sick and injured patients until more advanced medical providers arrive. This course is ideal for: Industrial personnel Law enforcement officers Fire service personnel Workplace emergency response teams Anyone needing emergency medical training below the EMT level Throughout this 48-hour course, students will learn: * Patient assessment * Bandaging and wound care * Splinting techniques * Basic spinal motion restriction * Basic Life Support (BLS) * Oxygen administration * Medical and trauma emergencies * Emergency childbirth * Additional life-saving emergency care skills Upon successful completion of the course, meeting all Louisiana Bureau of EMS requirements, and payment of all applicable fees, students will become Louisiana State Certified Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs). Prerequisites Applicants must: * Be 18 years of age or older * Meet all Louisiana Bureau of EMS requirements * Hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification from the American Heart Association or an approved equivalent Important Information BLS CPR certification, textbook, and Louisiana state license fees are NOT included in the course tuition.
